UBC Group Keg Service Team is here to serve you with personalized customer service, consulting and technical services, and spear refurbishment and replacement spears. We are soon to be Micro Matic Certified as a service provider who meets the high standards for returning your used Micro Matic valves to like-new condition.

REPLACEMENT KEG SPEARS

As you may know, kegs come with different spears fit for different couplers, the most common one being the D-type (aka American Sankey). We have D-type keg spears of all popular common lengths available in stock and ready for order 24/7. If a custom length is required,we can quickly cut and provide from Mississauga, ON or Surrey, BC.

As for the spears for kegs of other systems (A-type, G-type, M-type and S-type, all of which are typical to European beers), these are available by special order.

KEG SPEAR TOOLS AND PARTS

Whatever you may need to service your keg spears, we have got it : spear removal tools, spear installation tools, spear assembly/disassembly tools, and training! Tools and parts for replacing D-type spears are available for instant order from our counterparts from the Micro Matic keg valve technical team along with necessary training.

If you’re looking for parts for European keg spears (A, G, M, and S systems), they are available by special order and may take a bit longer to ship.

REFURBISHMENT PROGRAM

UBC service technicians are trained, and our facilities designed under guidance of Micro Matic, and we are soon to be Micro Matic Certified to provide quality repair and refurbishment services that will return your used Micro Matic keg spears and valves to like-new condition.

Keg Spear Service Include:
  • Replacement of leaking spears at a UBC Group facility in ON or BC or at your brewery
  • Repair of defective spears at a one of UBC Group facilities
  • Fitting-Services with original spare parts

Kegs and valves should always be repaired to their original dimensional specifications by a qualified technician. We use only original Micro Matic seals and tools to ensure long services life for all fitting systems.

MICRO MATIC CERTIFIED STANDARD PROCEDURE TO REPAIR SPEARS AT UBC Group:

  • 1.Inspect and sort kegs received
  • 2.Remove the spears from the kegs if required
  • 3.Micro Matic D System, drop-in ball-type spears will be dismantled for cleaning, inspection and refurbishment
  • 4.Inspect stainless steel parts to be reused: body, down tube, ball and retainer disc (if down tube or body are damaged, the entire spear is scrapped)
  • 5.Replace all wear parts with new parts from Micro Matic: CO2 valve, o-ring, both springs and circlip
  • 6.Reassemble spear
  • 7.Pressure test spear
  • 8.Etch UBC name and refurbishment date on the spear
  • 9.Check exact measurement of spear before reinstallation in the keg
  • 10.Reinstall spear in keg if required

STANDARD PROCEDURE TO REPLACE SPEARS AT A BREWERY:

  • 1.Inspect and sort kegs by UBC Group or brewery technician
  • 2.Remove the spears from the kegs using proper UBC Group tools
  • 3.Ship or provide defective spears to UBC Group for repair
  • 4.Pressure test kegs
